My introduction to Jiu Jitsu was in 1998 through a devoted martial artist, Dann Weed, who had learned from a few seminars and the Gracie tapes before becoming a Blue Belt under Chet Schemahorn. After 18 months I took a break to finish college and start a family and didn’t pick back up again until 2007, training with Dann again. After moving to Colorado in 2009, I trained under Professor Adam Martinez through Purple belt.

After moving back to Michigan in 2014, I started training in Kalamazoo under Professor Ron Blake who awarded me my Brown Belt, and recently, my Black Belt in 2021 at a Chris Haueter seminar. Despite setbacks and interruptions, Jiu Jitsu has been part of my entire adult life. I am looking forward to more coaching and giving back to the Art that has given me so much and I am thankful for all of the training partners and coaches who have helped me along the way.
