Justin Ray has been on the mats in some form or other since 1979 when he started going with his uncle to wrestling practice. He started Jiu jitsu in 1996 without an instructor and taught himself through books, magazines, VHS tapes, and attending seminars. Jiu Jitsu was a natural fit and instantly a passion. After training at several gyms from Colorado to the Carolinas, Justin was introduced to me via Alan Shebaro and Jeff Perez.

Justin is married to Libby, has a son, a daughter, and three granddaughters. He currently coaches HS wrestling and started a community Jiu jitsu group in the wrestling room where he coaches at his wife's HS. He also trains at Arte Suave in Charlotte, NC 3 times a week.
